San Francisco Carnaval Grand Parade 2022

Carnaval San Francisco

Carnaval San Francisco cultivates and celebrates the diverse Latin American, Caribbean and African Diasporic roots of the Mission District and the San Francisco Bay Area. We accomplish our mission through dance, music, the visual arts and by creating spaces for community learning, school–based education, and advocacy.

Now in its fourth decade of celebration, Carnaval San Francisco has been an opportunity for many cultures to come together in one spirit to share their creative expression. Come celebrate with Carnaval San Francisco at their FREE 2–day family festival in San Francisco’s Mission District where they will showcase the very best Latin American and Caribbean cultural arts and traditions. Carnaval San Francisco is the largest multi–cultural celebration on the West Coast.

The free, two–day Festival covers 17 blocks in the Mission District, with five main stages, 50 local performing artists, and 400 vendors. The festival includes international food, dancing, sampling sites and entertainment for families, couples and friends of all ethnic, social and economic backgrounds.

In the 43–year history of their Festival, they have welcomed luminaries like Celia Cruz, SANTANA, the Neville Brothers, Tito Puentes, Luis Enrique, Poncho Sanchez, Los Lonely Boys, Oscar D’León, INDIA, and Los Tigres del Norte. The two-day celebration is a cultural explosion with free admission for the community. With an attendance rate of over 400,000 people every year, Carnaval San Francisco is the largest multicultural celebration in California.

Carnaval San Francisco is a project of Cultura y Arte Nativa de las Americas (CANA), a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.

Golden Gate Bandshell Welcomes Back More Live Performances in 2022

Live music returns to the Golden Gate Bandshell’s iconic stage with another season of free outdoor performances in Golden Gate Park. The Lift Every Voice performance series, presented by Illuminate, will offer more than 100 free shows in Golden Gate Park’s Music Concourse in 2022.

The lineup of performers taking to the stage is diverse and local, with occasional international flourishes—The season will include rock bands and singer/songwriters, R&B, soul, jazz, big band musicians, string ensembles, dancers, and will feature many homegrown stars.

The expanded, multicultural program is part of a larger effort to ensure Golden Gate Park is a welcoming place for all. Informed by extensive public feedback gathered through the Golden Gate Park Safety and Access Program, the improvements include art installations and performances that reflect the diversity of the city and access upgrades that connect Black and brown communities, seniors, and people with disabilities to the park.  Other improvements launched recently include expanding free shuttle service and breaking ground on a project to add 20 new accessible parking spaces and ADA upgrades to the Golden Gate Bandshell parking lot.

Giant 8-Story Car Vending Machine Opens in the Bay Area

The Gateway to the Peninsula is unlocking car buying excitement in the Bay Area. Carvana proudly announces the opening of their Daly City Car Vending Machine, the fourth of its kind in California, which is set to serve a community of over 4.7 million residents!

Like many of the other Car Vending Machines that Carvana has launched in the past, customers at their new Daly City, California Car Vending Machine can expect to see the same kind of striking design and functionality that was introduced at the launch of their very first Car Vending Machine location in Nashville in November 2015. The new Daly City Car Vending Machine is eight stories tall and houses up to 27 vehicles, which are available for customers who purchase a vehicle online at Carvana.com.

Upon arrival at the Daly City Car Vending Machine, the customer will be greeted by a Carvana Customer Advocate and receive a commemorative, oversized Carvana coin to activate the automated vending process. From there, Carvana customers get a front-row seat to watch their vehicle descend through the brightly lit all-glass tower. Once the customer’s vehicle is in the delivery bay, they are invited to take possession of their car, where they will have seven days to drive the car around town before ultimately deciding if the vehicle is right for them.
