SF’s Outer Sunset Farmers Market & Mercantile 2022 (June 8 – August 10)

Outer Sunset Farmers Market and Mercantile: Lunar New Year Celebration – Richmond Review/Sunset Beacon

Sunset Mercantile was founded in 2014 by two local sunset mamas, Angie Petitt-Taylor and Laura Peschke-Zingler, fueled by an awareness of the need for a pop-up venue to support the blossoming business ideas of local community members—as well as lend support to the already established local small businesses and to fill the need for more unique and family-friendly events in the western side of our city. The original vision of a festive pop-up open-air metropolis has evolved into a much-beloved local destination in which we invite one and all to Come Eat, Drink, Shop, Play, Connect, and BE LOCAL!

A weekly market featuring farmers, ranchers, food artisans, live music, children’s activities, vendors, makers, merchants, artists, and local organizations. Explore all the amazing local businesses surrounding the farmers market at sunsetstrong.com.

OSFMM is presented by Sunset Mercantile in collaboration with D4 Supervisor Gordon Mar, OEWD and People of Parkside Sunset

SF’s Dancing in the Street 50+ Anniversary Summer Block Party

Dancing in the Street 50+ Anniversary Summer Block Party — Ronnie's Awesome List

ODC invites neighbors from our Mission District home and members of the Bay Area dance and movement communities to join us in celebrating ODC’s 50+ anniversary at a festive block party on Sunday, July 31st from 12 – 4 pm, concluding ODC’s Summer Sampler season at ODC Theater. The day will feature a free performance of KT Nelson’s ‘truly miraculous’ Path of Miracles by ODC/Dance, as well as works by our youth and teen program and dance artists affiliated with the ODC Theater such as Kinetech Arts and ODC Home Companies Chitresh Das Institute and RAWdance.  Come sample free dance and fitness classes, suited to all abilities and ages, individuals and whole families. Included in the lineup is Rhythm & Motion, who is helping to kick-off the block party with a community dance performance open to everyone! Meet and experience the food and drink of our neighborhood vendors and learn about services provided by fellow organizations and businesses that also call the area around 17th and Shotwell home. The afternoon’s activities are designed as an informal, participatory and welcoming afternoon for all.

“ODC is a neighborhood gem, an international organization with deep roots in our community. ODC is home to creativity and artistry. It is a place of joy and innovation; a place to venture out, and embrace the unexpected. That’s what great art does.”
– Laurene Powell Jobs

“ODC is a national treasure we can claim as our own. For over 50 years, through pandemics, earthquakes, recessions and droughts, ODC’s resilient artistic magic continues to inspire and thrill us.

Great talent alone does not sustain a community nonprofit. The combination and collaboration of performers, audience, determination and leadership allow for the dancers’ gravity-defying grace and brilliance to soar. We are indebted to and blessed by all that ODC continues to create.”

– Mark Leno
