Due to COVID-19, Learn-to-Fish clinics are not being scheduled. Please check back for updates. We hope to offer events in Spring 2022 but do not know if this will be possible.

New online Learn-to-Fish videos are available. These were designed for adults wishing to try the sport for the first time as well as parents wanting to teach their child to fish. Parents may want to read this guide to help you teach your child to fish.

Fishing During the COVID-19 Pandemic

• Many parks and shorelines are open to fishing.
• It is suggested you contact the agency that manages your desired fishing location to check on restrictions or closures prior to heading out.
• Follow all state and local health guidelines for physical distancing and hygiene.
• All fishing regulations are being enforced.

Community Fishing and Watershed Education programs provide opportunities to enjoy aquatic resources while helping community members understand the role they play in maintaining clean and healthy waterways.

This is achieved through the cooperation of community institutions including schools, service clubs, local government, park agencies, water districts, storm water pollution prevention programs, tackle retailers, CDFW and anyone else that is interested in kids, fishing and clean water.

The ultimate goal is to create repeatable fishing experiences, improve recreational opportunities for residents of your community, and to create stewards of our waterways.

San Francisco Bike Party is a monthly CELEBRATION of biking!

• SFBP is for ALL RIDERS of different ages, types, and skill levels to enjoy.
• SFBP encourages people to bring POSITIVITY and CONTRIBUTE to good times while being RESPECTFUL to others.
• SFBP rides FUN and SAFE with stops to DANCE and SOCIALIZE along the way.
• SFBP follows PLANNED ROUTES exploring all different parts of the city each month.

Who runs it?

• SFBP is created by a CO-OP, by and for bike enthusiasts, run by volunteers.
• SFBP volunteers plan the routes, test ride them, help participants ride in control, avoid traffic disruption, and not get lost.

Who is it for?

• SFBP is for EVERYONE, cyclists and people on and around the street.
• SFBP invites riders from EVERYWHERE around the Bay Area and beyond to participate and BRIDGE COMMUNTIES.

Where and When:

• SFBP is on the 1st FRIDAY at 8pm every month, with the route being announced beforehand, beginning in and riding thru different parts of San Francisco.

HEAD WEST | a local outdoor, retail marketplace in partnership with the Hayes Valley Neighborhood Association.

HEAD WEST was founded and is curated by creative + small brand owner Jimmy Brower and is led by an incredible team of leaders in the field.

2022 DATES: 4x Seasonally Sundays | Apr 24 – June 26 PRIDE – Aug 28 – Oct 23

PARTICIPANTS include Makers, Merchants, Crafters, Designers + Artists, as well as Non-Profit Organizations. Preference will be given to handmade, locally sourced, small batch, eco-friendly, conscious offerings and products. Mass manufactured and MLM companies will not be accepted.

COMMUNITY BOOTHS: Those that identify as BIPOC, AAPI, LGBTQIA+ or Non-Profit are highly encouraged to apply for both Marketplace Booths as well as a no-cost Community Booth. HAYES VALLEY is a cool, revitalized neighborhood in the Western Addition. The main commercial stretch, Hayes Street, teems with upscale boutiques for designer fashions and home decor, plus dessert shops, chill watering holes and a wide array of on-trend restaurants. The close-knit neighborhood features a community garden, a pocket park with art installations, and access to music and theater near the Civic Center.

HEAD WEST will take place, light rain or shine, along Hayes Street, Octavia Street adjacent to Patricia’s Green + Linden Street, except in June which will be an abbreviated PRIDE marketplace adjacent to Patricia’s Green + Linden Street only.
