San Francisco Fireworks: 4th of July (2025)

2025 SF 4th of July Fireworks

San Francisco invites you to come down to the Waterfront to enjoy the day as the annual 4th of July fireworks display. This event typically happens every year to celebrate Independence Day, but please note, as of 5/13/25, the 2025 information has not yet been announced, but we expect details to be similar to 2024.

The annual Fourth of July Fireworks will take place along SF’s incredible northern waterfront. Fireworks are typically set off from two barges off Pier 39 and from the Municipal Pier, Aquatic Park, beginning at 9:30 pm.

Fireworks are best viewed from the Hyde Street Harbor and Fisherman’s Wharf area. Other public areas to watch from include PIER 39 and the Pier 43 walkway.

What about the Fog?
On a clear night, the fireworks show is spectacular. But often in July, there’s low-lying fog, so there’s always a risk of just getting to see puffy colorful clouds.

2025 San Francisco Pride Festival (June 28-29)

Image result for pride parade

The San Francisco LGBT Pride Celebration and Parade is one of the largest LGBT gatherings in the nation. The two-day celebration is free and open to all. The parade takes place annually on the last Sunday of June. The 2025 theme is Queer Joy is Resistance.

2025 Pride Celebration and Rally
June 28-29, 2025 | 11am-6pm
Civic Center Plaza, San Francisco
FREE

The 55th annual San Francisco Pride Celebration is Saturday, June 28th and Sunday June 29th, 2025 at Civic Center Plaza, in front of historic San Francisco City Hall. The Pride Parade is Sunday, June 29th, 2025.

For 55 years our diverse and spirited community has gathered on the anniversary of the 1969 Stonewall uprising to demonstrate to the world who we are and what we stand for. We have marched to demand our rights and freedoms, and we have marched to honor our dead-–all the while celebrating our lives and loves in an explosion of queer joy and creativity.

With hard-won LGBTQ freedoms being stripped away, and oppression of our people growing ever more extreme across the globe, we must all come together to demonstrate our resolve to be unapologetically queer. Whether it’s your first time ever, or for the first time in a long time, make plans to join us in the streets at San Francisco Pride.

2025 SF Pride Parade and March
Sunday, June 29, 2025 | Starting at 10:00 am
Market Street from Embarcadero / Beale to 8th Street ending at Civic Center
FREE

The Pride Parade begins Sunday morning at 10am on Market Street at Embarcadero Plaza. The parade typically has over 250 contingents and lasts around 4 hours. Contingents step onto Market Street and proceed toward the Pride Celebration, ending around Market and 9th. The Celebrity Grand Marshall is Emmy Award–winning SNL writer Harper Steele.

With over 250 parade contingents and exhibitors, and 4-5 different stages (depending on the day), the San Francisco Pride Celebration and Parade remains the largest gathering of the LGBTQ+ community and allies in the nation.

Golden Gate Park Unveils Nation’s First Breast Cancer Memorial Garden

Golden Gate Park - Bay Area Young Survivors Breast Cancer Memorial Garden | San Francisco Recreation and Parks, CA

Golden Gate Park has a new peaceful spot to reflect and find comfort with the recent opening of the Bay Area Young Survivors Breast Cancer Memorial Garden. This marks the first permanent memorial in the U.S. dedicated specifically to those affected by breast cancer, and the first new memorial in Golden Gate Park in more than 30 years.

The garden is located at the junction of Arguello Boulevard and Conservatory Drive, overlooking the Conservatory of Flowers and the Golden Gate Bridge. It features a serene seating area surrounded by native oak woodlands and thoughtfully designed stone walkways etched with words from breast cancer survivors. A graceful metal arc displays the names of over 100 young people who lost their lives to metastatic breast cancer, offering a powerful tribute to their legacy.

The project is the result of an 11-year collaboration between Bay Area Young Survivors (BAYS)—a nonprofit supporting individuals diagnosed with breast cancer at age 45 or younger—and the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department. Construction began in late 2024, and the garden was officially unveiled in June 2025, fully funded through donations raised by BAYS.

Inspired by the success of the AIDS Memorial Grove, the garden offers a quiet place for survivors, caregivers, and visitors to pause, reflect, and find community. It’s more than a memorial—it’s a sanctuary in the heart of the city, welcoming anyone touched by cancer or in need of a moment’s peace.

Next time you’re wandering Golden Gate Park, take a detour to this meaningful new space. Whether you’re remembering loved ones or simply soaking in nature, the Bay Area Young Survivors Breast Cancer Memorial Garden is a powerful addition to the park’s treasured landscape.
