Pier 39 is 39 ”Anniversary Kick-Off Celebration” 1/20/2017

39th_420x280

In the late 1970s, savvy San Francisco businessman and developer Warren Simmons dreamed of building an urban park along the city’s undeveloped waterfront. On October 4, 1978, Simmons’ dream became a reality when he transformed a dilapidated cargo pier into PIER 39, an eclectic collection of specialty shops, restaurants and attractions. The first project built along The Embarcadero since World War II, PIER 39 paved the way for future developments beside the Bay. Thirty-nine years later, more than 11 million guests visit The PIER each year.

39 WEEKS OF CELEBRATION

Join in on the fun beginning this January, every Friday for 39 weeks to celebrate 39 years of amazing views, fresh seafood, unique local shopping, and, of course, sea lions! Each week they will be serving up something different: from discounts and giveaways, to fun special events like Movie Nights, a 70s Roller Disco Party, Beer and Wine Pours, and more. There’s something for everyone to enjoy! The celebration culminates with The PIER’s 39th Birthday Bash on October 14, featuring live music and fireworks over San Francisco Bay. Check out the full schedule on Pier39.com.

Christmas Tree Disposal

Christmas tree pick up has begun and will continue through January 14th. Please place clean, unflocked trees at China Basin curb, next to the mews area between the Radiance & Madrone. When discarding your tree, please remove all tinsel, decorations, plastic bags, stands and lights. If your tree measures more than 6 feet tall, please cut the tree in half.

Trees will be picked up on the same days as our trash pick up days on Monday, Wednesday and Friday which means that trees must be placed on the curb on China Basin Street on Sunday afternoon, Tuesday afternoon and Thursday afternoon after 3:00PM. Please DO NOT put trees out on the morning of trash pick up as the trash is picked up before 8:00AM.

As a reminder, Christmas trees may NOT be deposited down any trash chutes and must be bagged while being transported through the building. A plastic bag is available for purchase at the front desk for $5 each.

Thank you!
