SF to Host Pokémon’s 1st Ever Official Fan Fest in 2026

A huge win for Moscone and Chase Center – SF lands “Pokémon XP” and the World Championships finals coming August 2026

San Francisco will host Pokémon XP, a new official fan event running alongside the 2026 Pokémon World Championships, at the Moscone Center from Aug. 28-30, 2026.

The event will offer panels, workshops, special guests, and a pop-up Pokémon Center store with exclusive merchandise. Pokémon XP will replace some of the typical fan attractions at the World Championships, including art exhibits and meet-and-greets.

Championship Sunday: For the first time, the finals will take place at the Chase Center, home of the Golden State Warriors.

Tickets:

  • Multi-day passes: $120-$150 for adults, $70-$100 for kids under 18
  • Multi-day + arena experience passes: $150-$180 for adults, $90-$120 for kids under 18
  • Single-day passes: $90 / 120 adults (with arena experience), $70 / $100 kids (with arena experience)

Tickets go on sale Sept. 17, 2025, with a second wave the following day.  Single-Day Passes will be available in Spring 2026.

SF Zoo Free Admission Day (August 2025)

The San Francisco Zoo, Northern California’s largest zoological park and conservation center, periodically offers free admission for San Francisco residents.

When is the next free zoo day for SF residents?

– Next verified free day – Tuesday, August 19, 2025 

The free days are often the first or second Wednesday of the month. However, dates often announced on VERY short notice with as little as 24 hours in advance and sometimes months are skipped altogether.

This urban oasis, nestled against the Pacific Ocean, provides a comfortable climate all year round.  You’ll enjoy seeing the 250 different animal species in naturalistic surroundings, along with their many zoo activities and events.

Hours 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. – Last Entry 4 pm (time changes seasonally)
Great Highway, between Skyline and Sloat Boulevards, next to the Pacific Ocean.
FREE for SF residents only (valid ID required)

> Arrive Early: Last admission to the Zoo on a free day is typically one hour before closing time

You must be a resident of San Francisco and bring one of the following:

  • A valid driver’s license
  • A valid identification card
  • A utility, phone or other local bill that has your name and address, along with a current, valid photo I.D.

Parking in the main lot is $11. Free street parking is available along Sloat Blvd. A pedestrian drop-off area is located on Sloat Blvd. and 47th Avenue with a grand walkway leading directly to the main entrance.

*Free admission offer only valid to San Francisco residents with valid ID, subject to capacity. Admission into the zoo ends one hour before closing time for non-members. (For members admission ends 30 minutes before closing time.)
