FLOWER PIANO 2024: 12 HIDDEN PIANOS IN GOLDEN GATE PARK (SEPT. 13-22)

Flower Piano is set to return to the Botanical Garden this September 2024 for 10 days—September 13-22, with a special opening night event on September 12

Back again this year during Flower Piano is the Flower Piano Lounge. The Celebration Garden in the Botanical Garden will be transformed into an intimate experience where guests will enjoy special concerts, access to full-service bars offering beverages and food for sale, comfortable lounge seating, expedited entry to Flower Piano 2024, and more. Featured Lounge performances will include Lavay Smith and the Red Hot Skillet Lickers, Martin Luther McCoy & the Robin Hodge Williams Gospel Choir, Sixth Station Trio, Sumi Lee Tango Collective, and more!

The Japanese Tea Garden provides visitors from around the world with an opportunity to experience the natural beauty, tranquility, and harmony of a Japanese-style garden in the heart of San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park.

Originally created as a “Japanese Village” exhibit for the 1894 California Midwinter International Exposition, the Japanese Tea Garden endures as one of the most popular attractions in San Francisco, featuring classic elements such as an arched drum bridge, pagodas, stone lanterns, stepping stone paths, native Japanese plants, serene koi ponds, and a zen garden. Cherry blossom trees bloom throughout the garden in March and April.

Admission to the Japanese Tea Garden is free for San Francisco residents with valid ID. Free hours for everyone (even non-residents) are 9-10 am every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

CHINA TOWN “HUNGRY GHOST FESTIVAL” RETURNS AUG 17TH

Chinese Culture Center is bringing the festival back to you on August 17, 2024. Chinatown will transform into a rousing celebration of honoring ancestors and wandering spirits into the night. The theme for this year’s annual Hungry Ghost Festival is “Downpour, Uproar!”, The 2024 lineup includes a shopping challenge, art activation, a procession, and live performances.

PISTAHAN 2024: SF’S FILIPINO CULTURAL FESTIVAL

The Pistahan Parade and Festival is the largest celebration of Filipino art, culture, dance, food, and music in the U.S, happening on August 10-11, 2024.

The 31st annual Pistahan is the region’s premiere showcase of Filipino and Filipino-American arts and culture, with pavilions and stages presenting both traditional and contemporary music, dance, art, crafts, cuisine and artifacts. The two day event kicks off Saturday with the annual Pistahan Parade, the largest Filipino parade on the West Coast.
