Flower Piano 2024: 12 Hidden Pianos in Golden Gate Park (Sept. 13-22)
Posted By vcontreras on September 14, 2024
Flower Piano is back! Find hidden pianos in SF’s Botanical Garden.
Flower Piano is set to return to the Botanical Garden this September 2024 for 10 days—September 13-22, with a special opening night event on September 12—doubling the duration from last year and spanning two weekends!
In the final days of summer and for the ninth time since 2015, Flower Piano will once again transform San Francisco Botanical Garden into the city’s own alfresco concert hall where everyone is invited to play and listen.
Back again this year during Flower Piano is the Flower Piano Lounge. The Celebration Garden in the Botanical Garden will be transformed into an intimate experience where guests will enjoy special concerts, access to full-service bars offering beverages and food for sale, comfortable lounge seating, expedited entry to Flower Piano 2024, and more. Featured Lounge performances will include Lavay Smith and the Red Hot Skillet Lickers, Martin Luther McCoy & the Robin Hodge Williams Gospel Choir, Sixth Station Trio, Sumi Lee Tango Collective, and more!
The Flower Piano Lounge will host this year’s Special Opening Night Event on September 12, featuring Orquesta La Moderna Tradición bursting with their sweet yet powerful sound of the Afro-Cuban charanga orchestra, featuring violins and woodwinds interlocking with driving afro-Cuban rhythms.
Flower Piano is a musical event and attraction that provides open access to music and pianos within the natural, outdoor environment of San Francisco Botanical Garden.
Participants are invited to explore the Garden’s global living plant collections as they seek out approximately a dozen pianos spread out across the 55-acre living museum. At each of the pianos, there will be scheduled professional performances, open play time for participants, and community partner performances – reflecting a range of genres, ages, and cultures.
