The celebration of Lunar New Year continues at San Francisco Zoo & Gardens this weekend, February 4-5 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Guests will be treated to live performances by the Chung Ngai Dance Troupe, featuring traditional Chinese folk dance, martial arts and Lion Dance. Nearly 10,000 people visited SF Zoo during the first weekend of Lunar New Year, January 28-29. In addition to entertainment, guests may embark on an adventure by navigating the Chinese Zodiac Animal Scavenger Hunt, which includes a stop to see the Zoo’s rooster!

Guests born in the Year of the Rooster receive complimentary San Francisco Zoo & Gardens admission on days of the celebration. Keeping with the Chinese calendar, the Zoo will honor birthdays in 2017, 2005, 1993, 1981, 1969, 1957, 1945, 1933, 1921 and 1909, as well as birthdays falling in January and February of the following year!
